Qatar is a peninsula located in the middle of the west coast of the Arabian Gulf, accompanied by a number of islands, the most important being Halool Shira'aw and Ashat. Its territory is flat and rocky with some low-rising limestone outcrops in the western Dukhan area and northern Jabal Fuwairit. According to a recent report from Agence France Press, a French news agency, Qatar has made important steps and advanced well on the path of diversification of the economy in order to become financially successful and stable and obtaining foreign investment for the region. The Qatari Finance Minister Yousef Kamal has announced that Qatar plans to reduce dependence on income from oil and gas revenues in the budget to between 20 and 25% in 2015. This provision will be repealed by the year 202.

Simultaneously, Qatar aims at becoming the capital of energy in 2012 by producing 77 million tons of liquefied gas.
